National Library - Canberra ACT

The project invovled constructing tempory roof structures to cover a total area of 2000 sqm around the National Library. The roof sections were assembled and disassemled 4 times so that roof structure below could have the slate pavers removed and be resealed as water was leaking into the rooms below. Each slate paver had to be numbered when removed and put back in its original position.

From installation of the first stage mid 2007 and the disassembly of the final stage in september 2008 the project has spanned around 18 months from the inital design phase.

The $1 million dollar contract involved the construction, assembly and disassembly of the factory built tempory roof structures including the roof sheeting, bracing and columns.
